Lone Peak Film Festival presents the Local Filmmaker’s Showcase, August 11 at 6:30pm.
The festival focuses on Montana stories, Indigenous stories, conservation and stories of human resilience. The creators, who are all locals, will be in attendance for a live Q&A after the screening, Come celebrate the power and joy of inspiring local short films!

Snow, moonlight, and silence falls on the woods outside of Jackson, Wyoming, then a lioness and her cub step into the lights. So much cougar imagery comes from game farms or hound hunts. Jackson photographer Savannah Rose is committed to something else: tracking with patience, keeping distance, and letting wild behavior stay wild. After years of learning from filmmaker Jeff Hogan, she finally met a massive tom on his own terms—no bait, no dogs, no drama—just a real North American mountain lion in daylight.
