Selyna Peiris of Sri Lanka is expanding the textile company founded by her mother.

She Rises Up reveals the role entrepreneurs and small businesses can play in women gaining financial independence, and ultimately reducing poverty for all.

Join Wild Montana in Big Sky on Thursday, Feb. 27, to see this year’s 11 inspiring films and celebrate wild winters. Some lucky attendees will win prizes donated by local businesses Two Pines Properties and Ramshorn Outdoors.

It doesn’t get much better than backcountry films and the chance to win new gear to enhance your winter stoke!

Presented by Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Backcountry Film Festival celebrates human-powered recreation and wild winters. This year the festival commemorates its 20th season! Over the years, the festival has sparked conversations about the human connection to wild places, encouraged grassroots activism in the face of warming winters, and inspired stewardship of our wild public lands and waters. Enjoy films featuring backcountry experiences, conservation efforts, and personal stories of reflection and discovery while traversing wild landscapes. Check out the full film lineup here.

The Arts Council of Big Sky presents the first Adventure Circuit Film Series screening of 2025!

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) connects our global outdoor community with international filmmakers, creators, and speakers to inspire, entertain, and bring mountain adventure to you. The Festival presents unique outdoor films and content that illustrate experiences and cultures from all around the globe, bringing communities together to promote positive values and active lifestyles. Over 70 films were shown at the festival in Vancouver! While we wish we could show all of them, we’ve narrowed down seven films we believe you and our community will love. Enjoy an evening of stories of snowsports, climbing, biking, mountain culture, the environment, and more!

DARREN JOHNSON MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER

Join us this winter to support the Darren Johnson Avalanche Education Memorial Fund! We're hosting two exciting events and an online silent auction to honor Darren's memory and advance avalanche education.

The silent auction kicks off at our first event on January 16th at Beehive Brewery, where we'll celebrate Darren's legacy with raffles, swag, and a portion of the brewery's proceeds going to the fund-no tickets needed! The brewery will be donating proceeds from sales all day but swag and raffles will be available starting at 5:00pm.

The auction runs until our final event on January 20th at the Waypoint, featuring a Teton Gravity Research film, raffles, swag, and the auction's close. Tickets for the January 20th event are $25 and include entry, a drink token, and a raffle entry. Tickets can be purchased on this site or at the door. Doors open at 6:00pm.
