The Arts Council of Big Sky is proud to host the 28th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. Join audiences in over 500 venues worldwide to watch this year’s ten finalist short films and cast your vote for Best Film and Best Actor. Ballots will be provided at the door. The lineup spans the globe and explores themes of migration, reconciliation, parenthood, silence, and the challenges of growing up with plenty of drama, comedy, and even a touch of the fantastical.

TETON GRAVITY RESEARCH presents 'PRESSURE DROP'

Pressure Drop is the latest chapter in a 30-year journey—forged from a dream, fueled with cash from commercial fishing in Alaska, and driven by an obsession with life on the edge. This film follows the world’s best skiers and snowboarders, alongside the next generation, through Alaskan spines, stacked pillow lines, massive cliffs, giant couloirs, deep powder, and insane jumps. From Norway to British Columbia, California to Alaska, and home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, each line becomes a brushstroke in the art of descent.

This event supports local youth ski clubs affiliated with Big Sky Ski Education Foundation. See you there!

Kick off Big Sky's Haunted Peaks Festival weekend with the 4th Annual Skull & Roses Ball. 710 Ashbury is back to help us "raise the dead" with two full sets of Grateful Dead covers! Costumes a highly encouraged and prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Skull & Roses King, Skull & Roses Queen, People's Choice, and best Dead (Grateful Dead referenced) costumes.

Lone Peak Film Festival champions inspiring stories, builds community, offers mentorship, and supports local and Indigenous filmmakers, all to spark positive change and catalyze action.

By offering stories of kindness, perseverance, resilience and positive action in the face of injustice or adverse circumstances, we will create spaces where people can come together and honor the goodness in humanity and build a nurturing community. It will be a counterweight to the relentless negativity of the mass media, offering compelling and well crafted stories that entertain as much as they move and inspire.

By bringing these stories to a place like Big Sky, we hope to connect the filmmakers, and the perspectives they provide, with people who can help them build their careers and expand the social impact of their films, all while creating an event that will be entertaining and will bring the community of Big Sky together. We want to create opportunities for the sparks of hope offered in these stories to be fanned into flames that can make a positive impact locally and across the nation.
