Celebrating the spirit of Big Sky’s community and mountain culture, the Winter Shootout brings together filmmakers, photographers, athletes, and storytellers to showcase original works created right here in Big Sky. The encore event offers audiences another opportunity to experience this year’s most compelling films and photo presentations.
Produced by Second Season, a community-driven initiative focused on cultivating mountain culture through education, outreach, and experiential learning, the festival continues to grow as a cornerstone cultural event in Big Sky. The Shootout not only highlights local talent but also fosters connection, creativity, and a shared appreciation for life in the mountains.
The evening will feature a curated lineup of festival-winning film and photography submissions, along with a lively, community-centered atmosphere at The Waypoint. Shootout goers are encouraged to dress up and get their pictures taken on the Shred Carpet for a chance to win the Best Dressed Award. This year's theme is Big Sky Prom (everything from designer to dirtbag attire is encouraged). All ticket holders can sign up to receive a free Second Season Pass and enter for a chance to win raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses.
